Ivey Business School – Finance Interview Preparation Seminar

PLEASE NOTE that this session will be offered as a webinar and all course times are EST. This session will take place over four days, Aug 3 – 6 from 6pm – 9:30pm, daily.

Overview

• This 2-day course covers the technical finance questions most often asked by interviewers
• Taught from the perspective of finance practitioners with real-life examples on what techniques are used and how they are applied in live transactions
• Instructor-led, classroom format prepared slides, hands on exercises and highly interactive discussion

Learning Topics

• Overview of the skills and characteristics that are generally sought after in candidates by corporate recruiters
• Reviewing a company’s key financial statements and understand how they relate to each other
• Understanding equity value vs. enterprise value
• Reviewing various valuation methodologies and the rationale for using comparable trading and comparable transaction analyses
• Discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis and common errors

Special Instructions

• Participants will be sent a link in advance of the course and must use their computer to participate.
• Microsoft Excel is required for this session.
• Participants should have experience using Excel and familiarity with basic accounting principles prior to attending.
